Iksan, the capital of the Baekje Kingdom
The ancient text, 『Gwanseeumeungheomgi (觀世音應驗記)』 records that King Mu (600-641) of Baekje relocated the capital to Iksan.
Archaeological investigations have confirmed that Iksan possesses all the essential elements of an ancient capital, including a royal palace, temples, administrative sites, and royal tombs.
King Mu and Iksan
King Mu of Baekje (600-641) resolved the political and economic difficulties of the time in Iksan and pursued the dream of a new revival for Baekje.
